The basic course
The workshop is designed as a basic course for participants with little or no previous knowledge. The course lasts 5 hours and includes two breaks. We will deal with the following topics:

- Historical
- Drone music

- Scale on the chanter
- Play together
- Separation of tones
Practice
- Hold air pressure on the bagpipes
- Scale
- First simple melody

- Consolidate theory and practice

Instrument & Textbook
For our beginners’ seminar for fans of medieval bagpipes, you will need your own bagpipe. The German Smallpipe or a comparable bagpipe in A minor/Doric at guitar volume is ideal. If you do not have your own instrument, we will be happy to provide you with a German smallpipe for a rental fee. By the way: If you like the instrument and would like to buy it from us, we will add the rental fee to the purchase price. For the theory and the individual exercises we need the Bagpipe Primer, Part 1. You can purchase this bagpipe book in our store or at the course.
Your previous knowledge
For our beginners’ workshop for the medieval bagpipes, you don’t need any knowledge of sheet music or any other special prior knowledge. We start with the basics, which build on each other.
Date & Venue
We start on Saturday, October 1st at 10:00 am and end the workshop around 4:30 pm. The course lasts six and a half hours and includes plenty of breaks. The bagpipe course for the medieval market bag takes place in the

The catering
For the big lunch break, we visit a local restaurant together, where we reserve a table for ourselves. When choosing a restaurant, we make sure that vegetarian dishes are also available.

Dein Workshop hat sehr viel Spaß und mir persönlich sehr viel weitergeholfen. Sowohl die Theorie , das Geschichtliche und die Bauweise haben mich sehr interessiert und waren meiner Meinung nach echt gut verpackt 🙂
Auch wenn ich die jüngste an Bord war , war mir das eigentlich egal und zusammen mit euch allen hat es mir sehr viel Spaß gemacht den Tag zusammen mit anderen Dudlern zu verbringen.
Deine Workshops und Instrumente kann man nur weiterempfehlen was ich natürlich auch tun werde wenn jemand nach meiner German Smallpipe fragt 😀

Meine Tochter Jennifer und ich besuchten bei Jonas den Anfängerkurs und den Kurs für Fortgeschittene.
Die Empfehlung für die Unterkunft und die Wegbeschreibung waren perfekt und wir würden immer wieder dort nächtigen 🙂
Der Kurs war sehr abwechslungsreich. Von der Notenlehre bis zu den Verzierungen war alles dabei.
Mit viel Fachwissen und Geduld ging Jonas auf jeden Kursteilnehmer ein und gab ihm ein sicheres Gefühl .
Die Kursteilnehmer waren alle unterschiedlich und sehr nett und alle verband der Wunsch, dieses wunderbare Instrument zu beherrschen und zu erlernen 🙂
Wir hatten viel Spass. Jonas hatte in dem Kursraum für das leibliche Wohl gut gesorgt und in den Pausen führte er uns in unterschiedliche Lokalitäten aus.
Ich selbst erwarb bei ihm die selbstgebaute German Smallpipe und bin sehr zufrieden damit 🙂
Wir werden diesen Kurs auf jeden Fall noch einmal besuchen und freuen uns schon jetzt darauf 🙂
